Maris Sal. Sea salt. No fragrance, no dye, no preservative, no filler. Fragrance and colourant are the two things most often behind a reaction to a bath product, and neither one is in here — which is why this works for people who can't use a scented soak. Turn over the bag under your sink and count how many ingredients are on the back of it.

Where the salt comes from

The Atlantic, off the coast of Rio Grande do Norte — the stretch of Brazilian coast they call the Costa Branca, the White Coast, named for the salinity of its own water and land. The region produces roughly 95% of all sea salt in Brazil. Seawater goes into shallow ponds, the sun and the wind take the water out, and nobody boils anything.

It is then weighed, filled and sealed by hand, in small batches — right there. That is why the pouch says Made in Brazil and not "distributed by".

How to use it

Fill a basin with comfortably warm water. Add the soak at the dose printed on the pouch and swirl until it dissolves. Feet in for about twenty minutes. Rinse, pat dry, then file and cream — in that order.
